Physiotherapy

We provide physiotherapy in Lillington, Leamington Spa, for adults experiencing neuro-musculoskeletal problems, such as neck, back, shoulder, elbow, knee, hip, or ankle pain. Whether you have experienced a recent injury, dealing with chronic pain, or reduced mobility, our tailored and holistic approach focuses on assessment, treatment, and long-term management to help you move better, feel stronger, and in control of your own health.

What is an initial physiotherapy consultation?

Your initial physiotherapy consultation lasts approximately one hour and includes a comprehensive assessment to help establish a potential diagnosis, understand possible contributing factors, and determine the most effective treatment for both recovery and ongoing management. This session allows us to develop a holistic and tailored approach that aligns with your needs and life-style, helping you take the first step toward improved movement and long-term well-being.

What are the key aspects of an initial physiotherapy consultation?

✔️ Have an in-depth discussion about your symptoms, medical history, lifestyle factors, and any previous treatments to gain a full understanding of your condition.

✔️ Assess movement and function through specific exercises to identify areas of weakness, stiffness, or imbalance affecting your mobility and overall physical health.

✔️ Use manual techniques such as joint mobilisation or myofascial release (if appropriate) to relieve tension, reduce pain, improve flexibility, and restore movement.

✔️ Provide education on your condition, explaining the underlying causes of your symptoms and equipping you with practical self-management strategies to support your recovery.

✔️ Develop a personalised treatment plan tailored to your needs, outlining the best course of action to help you regain strength, mobility, and confidence in movement.

✔️ Set SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Time-bound) goals to track progress and ensure your treatment aligns with your long-term health and activity plans.

What happens during your Follow-up session?

In this 30 or 45-minute session, we focus on tracking your progress, adjusting treatment, and refining your recovery plan as needed. Whether you're continuing rehabilitation, managing a chronic condition, or seeking guidance on your next steps, this session ensures your care remains effective and tailored to your evolving needs.

What are the key aspects of a Follow up appointment?

✔️ Reassess your condition, pain-level,  and range of movement to track improvements, identify any ongoing limitations, and adjust your treatment and long-term management accordingly.
✔️ Monitor progress and recovery to ensure your rehabilitation is moving in the right direction and address any concerns that may arise.
✔️ Adjust your exercise plan based on your current ability, making modifications to support continued strength, mobility, and function.
✔️ Provide manual therapy such as joint mobilisation, soft tissue work,  (if appropriate) to relieve tension, improve mobility, and reduce pain.
✔️ Offer ongoing education and self-management strategies to empower you with the knowledge and tools needed for sustained progress and long-term symptom management.
✔️ Review and refine goals to keep you motivated, ensuring your recovery plan aligns with your lifestyle and activity aspirations.
